DNA methylation and our epigenetic clock

Enveloping our genome or our DNA is what is known as the epigenome, an organization of proteins that switches on our genes having a profound influence on how rapidly we age.  By methylating or activating our DNA this epigenetic clock can actually influence ageing.  Finding out about these patterns of methylation and our unique epigenetic clock might allow us to intervene to slow down ageing.  Although this kind of assessment is not freely available commercial enterprise is already positioning itself to provide us with this information.
