Should we all be taking probiotics and consuming fermented foods?

According to research which I’ve documented in ‘Immune Apocalypse’ probiotics, which are live purportedly beneficial gut germs, have the power to not only prevent respiratory infections but also reduce the duration of influenza, coughs and colds. There is research which supports this.

Fermented foods like kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, tempeh, natto, miso, kimchi and sourdough have tremendous potential to eradicate harmful germs, boost the immune systems of our gut, treat constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease and even help lower raised blood pressure and elevated cholesterol. Unfortunately most of this evidence comes from research done in test tubes and on animals with limited human evidence demonstrating the benefits of these foods.
