The conundrums of ageing experimentation

The December editorial of Rejuvenation Research, a journal devoted to showcasing the very latest in ageing exploration makes the point that a lot of experimentation is done on animals and cells in a test tube and queries the extent to which these findings can be extrapolated to us.  It also highlights the difficulties faced when applying this technology, for example stem cell therapy can seed healthy as well as potentially cancerous cells.  Addressing these difficulties isn’t easy and might take time, a reality that commercial interests appear to ignore.
