Urolithin A

A colleague recently enquired if I was taking urolithin A and I had to confess that it’s not a member of the smorgasbord that graces my supplement table.  Green tea, berries, nuts, pomegranates and spices, all the good stuff, are rich sources of urolithin A. So it should come as no surprise that housing these beneficial foods in a supplement could only have an upside.

A dose of 1000mg a day can help us to walk faster with more cardiovascular efficiency, in other words we’d also probably be less breathless.  It can also preserve bone and muscle, two highly desirable benefits as we age.  In test tubes it can eradicate cancer cells and rejuvenate ageing skin, not bad for a berry extract.
