As I’ve indicated in ‘You have the power’ there are a bunch of reasons for a hike in blood pressure, especially as we age, which is not good for our hearts or our brains. Although there are a number of natural strategies, all discussed in the book, which can be embraced to lower blood pressure it’s not always easy without medication. Recent research suggests that intermittent fasting might be another intervention that can reduce blood pressure but it does require some dedication and ongoing commitment. It might require going for two days a week without food to achieve a significant outcome which is not for the faint hearted or the persistently empty stomachs.
