Time, ageing and walking backwards

Time evaporates more quickly as we get older which is one of the reasons we should walk backwards and do things with our opposite hands.  No doubt these would slow us down, possibly being a touch annoying if we’re in a hurry to get someplace not to mention a shade embarrassing as we ambulate in reverse but the upside is apparently worth the endeavour.

Aside from being good for our brains as it activates and marries brain cells that might be in flight or quiescent mode, backward walking, not other hand shaving yet, is trending on social media, another rationale for going with the flow, however slowly.   I tried reverse mode running this morning and it’s definitely a calorie burner with more upper leg muscle engagement, as well as bringing lower back, abdominal and the gluteus muscles into play.  Flexibility and co-ordination also get a work out and we have to activate all our senses to ensure our bodies remain safe.   All in all if we’re prepared to weather bemused stares the benefits are many.
