The benefits of cabbage

There is a restaurant round the corner from where I live that makes a delectable cabbage salad.  While I’m enjoying this culinary delight I thought I’d examine the research to see if it’s benefits matched the extent of my pleasure.   Lowering blood sugar and reducing inflammation in diabetics,  restoring healthy gut biodiversity, eliminating invading microbes like helicobacter pylori, the bug that causes stomach ulcers, at least in the test tube, helping to prevent breast and liver cancer, aborting the march towards macular degeneration that ends in blindness and  repairing and reversing cataracts are just some of the ways that regularly consuming cabbage can contribute to our wellbeing.

No question the salad’s deliciousness is on par with its health potential.
