Chopping boards and washing your bedding

I’m not usually a sucker for online advertising but with the never-ending reference to ‘forever chemicals’ contaminating the water supply which I have discussed in a prior article and the dangers of microplastics wreaking havoc with my hormones not to mention increasing my cancer risk when an online promotion surreptitiously erupted on my screen warning me of the dangers of plastic cutting boards with wood running a close second I proceeded almost  immediately to my local hardware store to avail myself of the titanium variety which apparently don’t release microplastics.   Of course the store attendant knew nothing of these, treating my seemingly neurotic concern with a dismissive scowl.   Utilising all her sales smarts as I was clearly highly impressionable she sold me the propylene glycol variety which sounded scientifically sound being also free of BPA (bisphenol A-another death enhancing chemical).

Sadly after coming home and doing some research I discovered that chopping vegetables on propylene glycol can also liberates microplastics which prompted me to finally purchase the titanium board online so I’ll end up with half a dozen chopping boards to choose from.

Experts advise that we should wash our sheets and pillow cases at least once weekly and more often for those suffering from eczema, acne, hay fever and asthma to get rid of dust mites and other allergens that might trigger these conditions.  When we strip the bed leaving it bare with open windows will also encourage the egress of dust mites, allergens and mould spores which can further alleviate these disorders.
