I’m not a big fan of cow’s milk, partly because so many of us are lactose intolerant, and there is also at least some evidence connecting dairy consumption with an increased risk of prostate cancer, although hard core scientists would tell us that the evidence is inconclusive.  Soy milk is a no-no because it increases a substance called sex hormone binding which effectively compromises the function of every hormone in our body, especially thyroid hormones, rendering us languid and fatigued.

Rice milk can be rich in arsenic, oat milk contains gluten, a non-digestible substance with no nutritional value and hemp milk can also compromise thyroid hormone production.  So, I’m opting either for almond milk, with the unsweetened variety being low in calories, or coconut milk, being a touch higher in calories, but augmenting HDL production, the good cholesterol which benefits our hearts.
