The future of health innovation

According to a review in Time magazine technologies where robots might usurp the role of caregivers, artificial  intelligence might make doctors redundant and electrical circuitry will be implanted into our bodies to treat chronic diseases rendering drugs that are often ineffective and come with a smorgasbord of adverse side effects no longer necessary, might be both a blessing and a curse.  Do we really want to render doctors and those who look after us obsolete?  While these innovations need to be lauded for possibly curtailing the many chronic diseases that we increasingly encounter as we age what might also do us a whole lot of good is to do whatever we can to prevent these diseases in the first place.
