Resolutions

The problem with making resolutions is that they might be great to formulate but arduous to execute.   I repeatedly inform my French patients that I’m about to commit to learning their language which would be a fabulous cognitive enhancer for my ageing brain while ultimately improving my communication capacity and relationship with them.  All I have to do is utilise my library membership to commence an online learning process which I haven’t yet done.   The reason; I spend a lot of time on the computer during the day hence my reluctance to re-expose myself after hours when I’d prefer to chill out in front of another source of blue light while I disengage my higher centres.   Relaxing and easy but resolution not activated.

The Nike adage ‘just do it’ might be helpful here.   In this holiday period it’s going to be easier to dedicate my daily hours to start learning the language.  The challenge will be to continue what I’ve initiated when I return to work.
