Beating insomnia

With coronavirus lurking and widespread economic hardship getting a good night’s rest might be problematic for many of us.  As current evidence suggests that utilizing conventional sleep-inducing medications might be harmful in the long-term a reminder about the steps we can take to conquer insomnia would be timely.  Aside from all of these useful suggestions not sleeping for more that an hour beyond our regular weekday waking time on the weekend,  avoiding any screen time for at least an hour before we go to bed and using natural sleep remedies such as melatonin and the herbs; valerian, passion flower, chaste tree, zizyphus and even St John’s wort, often used to treat depression but not in conjunction with routine antidepressants, might be the ideal solutions for recalcitrant insomnia.
